Effect of Aqueous Methanolic Extract of Pomegranate Peel (Punica granatum) and Veratrum (Veratrum album) on oxidative status, immunity and digestive enzyme activity in Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

Aquaeous methanolic extracts of pomegranate peel (Punica granatum) and veratrum (Veratrum album) were evaluated for their effects supplementation in fish diets on oxidative status, digestive enzymes immunity rainbow trout fingerlings (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Three different concentrations 250 (P250), 500 (P500) 1000 (P1000) mg kg-1 (V250), (V500) (V1000) added to the diet fed these 60 days over a control without any (P0 V0, respectively). Immune responses status every 20 days. Digestive enzyme activity growth performances determined at end study. We observed that respiratory burst significantly increased (P<0.05) study compared except V500 group. Lysozyme was 20th 40th day all experimental groups group (P<0.05). Myeloperoxidase increase treated decreased 60th control. Haematological showed declining trend supplemented with extract. SOD while no differences catalase activity. G6PDH decline groups, however, GPx V100 groups. Lipid peroxidation lowest level P1000 V250 The indicated positive impact extract moderate doses supplementation.
